Saturday, September 17th and  18th Lincoln Parish Park host the 30th Annual Piney Hills Classic! This two-day mountain bike festival is open to all, with races ranging from 2.5 to 27 miles. 

Ruston Art Encounter presents the Mural and Street Art Experience in Downtown Ruston on September 24th! Showcased in this walking tour are the fabulous murals of downtown, in addition to artwork at 12 participating businesses.

October 1st come stroll through Ruston’s downtown Railroad Park and see a trail of spooktacular pumpkins and more fall festivities! A  Pet Costume Contest starts at 6:30pm, so bring your furry friends to be a part of a family-friendly night in Downtown Ruston. Kona Ice and Second Round Bakery will also be on-site with treats for purchase. Bring your pumpkin to Railroad Park to be a part of the spooky display. Please include a battery-operated light inside your pumpkin.


Household hazardous collection day is the 2nd Saturday of each month 2609 Farmerville St. 8:30AM – 11:30AM

Materials accepted are:

  • Computers, Printers, T.Vs., Phones
  • Fluorescent Light Bulbs
  • Batteries (lead-acid, NiCad, alkaline)
  • 5 Tires per individual, per vehicle, per day – no rims
  • 10 Cans of Paint, Chemicals, Aerosol
  • White goods (appliances), Furniture
  • Paper (anything that will tear)
  • Plastic Bags and Water Bottles.                       Hazardous Waste Material Collection Day is Saturday May 14th 8:30 to 11:30 AM
